The crisis in Sudan is a tragedy that appear s to have slipped "into the fog of global amnesia," according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Volker Turk.

In a dramatic turn of events on the morning of 28 February, the International Negotiating Body (INB) Chair, Dr Viroj Tangcharoensathien of Thailand, took the unprecedented step of suspending t he pathogen access and benefit sharing (PABS) sub-group meeting, in response t o mounting concerns voiced by developing countries regarding the proposed PAB S text.
