WTO : Members endorse chair's agri-text, large majority rally behind PSH (PRIV)

Many countries on 30 January lent support to the draft negotiating text issued by the chair of the Doha agriculture nego tiations on 27 January, saying that it can be a basis for advancing the negotiations in search of an outcome at the World Trade Organization's 13th ministerial conference (MC13) beginning on 26 February in Abu Dhabi.

UN : Human rights chief appeals for $500 million in funding for this year (PRIV)

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Volker Turk, on 30 January appealed for USD 500 million in annual funding for his Office this year, in order to "address some of the b iggest human rights challenges humanity is facing now, and will face in the future ."

UN : Over 10 million displaced by conflict in Sudan, says IOM (PRIV)

A staggering 10.7 million people are now displaced by the conflict in Sudan, according to the International Organiza tion for Migration (IOM).
