The chair of the World Trade Organization 's General Council, Ambassador Athaliah Lesiba Molokomme of Botswana, is convening an informal retreat on "trade and industrial policy" at the World Trade Organization on 25-26 September, in an apparent move to institutionalize th e European Union's proposal on "reinforcing the deliberative function of the WTO to respond to global trade policy challenges."
