Trade : Doha fisheries chair provides reasons for his draft proposals (PRIV)

The chair of the Doha fisheries subsidi es negotiations at the World Trade Organization, Ambassador Einar Gunnarsson o f Iceland, has suggested several changes for tackling the subsidies of the bi g subsidizers in the overcapacity and overfishing pillar to demonstrate that measures are being implemented to maintain at a biologically sustainable level stock s in the relevant fishery or fisheries, as well as on special and differential treat ment (SDT) provisions for developing countries, said people familiar with the explanat ory note issued along with his draft text.
