The Group of Seven (G7) industrialized countries on 20 May failed to set a tangible target or the quantum of funds they will provide for addressing the "loss and damage" suffered by developing an d vulnerable countries due to climate change.

Two shocking findings have just been revealed: the G7 countries owe low- and middle-income countries a huge 13.3 trillion USD in unpaid aid and funding for climate action, at a time when o ne billion people now face cholera risk, precisely because of the staggering r eduction and even non- payment of committed assistance.
