WTO : India calls Brazil's "bluff" on sanctity of ministerial mandate on PSH (PRIV)

India has apparently called Brazil's "bluf f" that ministerial mandates have no sanctity and that they can be reversed by any member of the World Trade Organization after a large majority of developing countries unambiguously demanded an outcome on the mandated permanent solution for public stockholding (PSH) programs for food security by engagi ng in text-based negotiations, said people familiar with the discussions.

Climate : Loss & damage funding should be new, additional and predictable (PRIV)

At the first mandated workshop on addressing loss and damage which took place in a hybrid (in-person & virtua l) format on 29-30 April 2023 in Bonn, Germany, Cuba, speaking for the G77 and China, underscored operational principles such as making sure that the loss and damage funding is new, additional, predictable, and adequate, and not incre ase the debt burden of developing countries.

UN : Human Rights Council to hold special session on Sudan (PRIV)

The United Nations Human Rights Council is t o hold a special session on 11 May to address "the human rights impact of the ongoing conflict in the Sudan".
