WHO : IHR text negotiations on equity proposals to start in April (PRIV)

The Working Group on Amendments to the International Health Regulations (2005) (WGIHR) has decided to start text-based negotiations on proposals addressing equity during its third session that will take place on 17 to 21 April.

Confusion prevailed over the development of the first draft of a new pandemic instrument at the end of the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) tasked by the World Health Assembly to draft and negotiate a "WHO convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response" (WHO CA+).

Latin America : Digital gender gap reflects discrimination against women (PRIV)

The digital gender gap is multi-factorial in Latin America and as long as countries fail to address discrimination against women, inequality will be reflected in the digital space, excluding them from access to opportunities and enjoyment of their rights.
