After making the World Trade Organization's Appellate Body dysfunctional, the United States has somewhat ironically appealed a panel ruling in favour of China, Switzerland, Norway, and Turkiye against the US Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum products to the defunct Appellate Body.

WTO : Members appoint Chairs for agriculture & Rules negotiating bodies (PRIV)

Members of the World Trade Organization on 27 January approved the appointments of Ambassador Einar Gunnarsson of Iceland and Ambassador Alparslan Acarsoy of Turkiye as the new chairs of the Negotiating Group on Rules (NGR) and of the Committee on Agriculture in Special Session (CoASS), respectively.
