The prospects for extending the World Trade Organization's 12th ministerial conference (MC12) decision on the TRIPS Agreement to cover the production and supply of COVID-19 diagnostics and therapeutics by the deadline of 17 December seem to hang on by a thread, said people familiar with the development.

The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, once again sounded the alarm at the opening of the world leaders' climate summit on 7 Nov. in Sharm El-Sheikh, saying that greenhouse gases keep growing, the temperature is rising and that the planet is reaching tipping points.
