Trade : WTO DG promotes controversial trade agenda at COP27 (PRIV)

The World Trade Organization's Director-General, Ms Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, wants trade to be included in the nationally determined contributions (NDCs) of Parties under the Paris Agree ment on climate change, suggesting that the "trade and investment facilitation p athway" is "part of the solution for achieving a low-carbon, resilient, and just tr ansition".

COP 27 : Climate negotiations kick off after smooth adoption of agendas (PRIV)

The climate talks in Sharm El-She ikh kicked off on 6 November, following the smooth adoption of agendas for the meetings that included the most anticipated matter of funding arrangements for addressing loss and damage proposed by the Group of 77 and China.

The annual climate conference under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement kicks off in the Egyptian coastal re sort city of Sharm El-Sheikh from Nov. 6-18.
