WTO : Stalemate on appointment of chairs of Doha agriculture & Rules bodies (PRIV)

The continued stalemate at the World Trade Organization over the appointment of the chairs of the Doha negotiating bodies on agriculture and Rules, which oversees the fisheries subsidies negotiations, has apparently brought the concerns raised by the developing countries to the centre stage, said people familiar with the development.

Finance : Developing countries need monetary financing (PRIV)

Developing countries have long been told to avoid borrowing from central banks (CBs) to finance government spending. Many have even legislated against CB financing of fiscal expenditure.

DRC : ECW chief calls for support to bring girls & boys back to learning (PRIV)

The Director of Education Cannot Wait (ECW), Yasmine Sherif, launched a strong call for public and private donors to step up funding, asking them to "show the same courage" she saw in the children she met during her week-long visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
