WTO : South must demand legal review of Fisheries Subsidies Agreement (PRIV)

The World Trade Organization's Director-General, Ms Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, plans to host a one-day retreat on 10 October, ostensibly to drive home the message that the 164 members must ratify the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement, a so-called "historic achievement" that seems to have run into rough waters after the United States demanded "legal scrubbing" of the agreement, said people familiar with the development.

UN : Palestinian economy reeling from impact of Covid-19, fiscal crisis (PRIV)

The gross domestic product (GDP) of the Occupied Palestinian Territory grew by 7.1 per cent in 2021, following a contraction of 11.3 per cent in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and continued restrictive measures under Israeli occupation, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said.
