Trade : WTO DG's assertions about MC12 flying from facts? (PRIV)
(D. Ravi Kanth, Geneva)
Several comments made by the World Trade Organization's Director-General, Ms Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at an informal Heads of Delegation (HoD) meeting on 7 July, seem to "fly from facts", particularly her assertion that the "conclusion" of the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement "marks the first Sustainable Development Goal target that has been fulfilled - 14.6."

Mideast : A new peace plan - confederation of Israel, Palestine & Jordan (PRIV)
(IPS, New York)
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which dates back to the mid-1940s, is one of the longest military confrontations defying a permanent solution - even as it continues to be on the agenda of the United Nations whose primary mandate is the maintenance of international peace and security.

Labour : Hundreds of millions of human workers treated worse than robots (PRIV)
(IPS, Madrid)
While the world's big private business pours billions of dollars in producing automatic machines and assuring their optimal functioning, barely no money has been invested in the hundreds of millions of human workers, who are left shockingly unprotected, treated like cheap robots, or even worse.
