Trade : Asymmetries aplenty in revised draft fisheries text for MC12 (PRIV)

The chair of the Doha fisheries subsidies negotiations on 8 November issued his second revised draft text that appears to have tilted the level-playing field in favour of the big subsidizers to continue with their industrial-scale fishing, while bringing about differentiation among developing countries for availing of special and differential treatment, said people engaged in the negotiations.

COP26 : Do not block progress on finance, adaptation, loss & damage, North told (PRIV)

At the informal stocktaking plenary of the ongoing UNFCCC's COP 26, held on 8 November, developing countries led by the G77 and China, called on developed countries to make progress on key issues of importance such as finance, adaptation and loss and damage.

UN : "Indispensable partners" barred from entering Secretariat building (PRIV)

The United Nations has come under heavy fire for continuing a 20-month- long ban on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) - even though the Secretariat is expected to return to near- normal by November 15 after a pandemic lockdown going back to March 2020.
