The sustained international campaign in support of the temporary TRIPS waiver in combating the COVID-19 pandemic appears to have forced the G20 trade ministers to include the issue of "trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights (TRIPS)" as a pivotal component of the WTO's response to the pandemic, people who took part in the meeting told the SUNS.
