Are there any parallels between the sudden withdrawal by the United States from Afghanistan, and Washington's departure from the Doha round of trade negotiations? Well, there appears to be a strong correlation between these two events.

Trade : China blocks Japan's panel request over duties on stainless steel (PRIV)

A request for the establishment of a dispute panel by Japan to examine anti-dumping measures imposed by China on imports of stainless steel products from Japan was blocked by China at a meeting of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) on 30 August.

The Joe Biden administration's call for undocumented Central American migrants not to go to the United States, as requested by Vice President Kamala Harris during a June visit to Guatemala, appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
