Labour : Crisis-induced "jobs gap" to reach 75 million in 2021, says ILO (PRIV)

The crisis-induced global shortfall in jobs is projected to stand at 75 million in 2021 and at 23 million in 2022, with the corresponding shortfall in working hours in 2021 amounting to 3.5 per cent, or equivalent to 100 million full-time jobs, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Trade : Developed countries support harmful fisheries subsidies at WTO (PRIV)

Major developed countries and some developing countries at the WTO have strongly supported a controversial formulation in the latest draft consolidated chair's text on fisheries subsidies that allegedly provides reverse special and differential treatment (S&DT) to the big subsidizers for continuing with their harmful subsidies in the overcapacity and overfishing pillar, said people familiar with the development.

Climate : Parties exchange views on common time-frames for NDCs (PRIV)

The first informal consultation on common time-frames (CTFs) for nationally determined contributions (NDCs) was conducted on 1 June, under the UNFCCC's Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI). The Subsidiary Bodies are meeting virtually from 31 May to 17 June.
