United Nations : World trade rebounds in first quarter of 2021, says UNCTAD (PRIV)

The value of global trade in goods and services grew by 4 per cent quarter-over- quarter and by 10 per cent year-over-year in the first quarter of 2021, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has said.

The 62 co-sponsors of the proposed TRIPS waiver at the WTO for combating the worsening COVID-19 pandemic have sought at least three years for waiving intellectual property rights "on health products and technologies, including diagnostics, therapeutics, vaccines, medical devices, personal protective equipment, their materials, or components, and their methods and means of manufacture for the prevention, treatment, and containment of COVID-19."
