United Nations : Acute food insecurity hits five-year high, says report (PRIV)

At least 155 million people were acutely food insecure and in need of urgent assistance in 55 countries/territories in 2020, representing an increase of nearly 20 million people since 2019, and the highest level reached in five years.

Brazil : Court rules against patent extension provision (PRIV)

A provision in Brazil's intellectual property law that allows for unlimited patent term extensions has been declared unconstitutional by the Brazilian Supreme Court, in a decision that could enhance the availability of affordable medicines to patients in need.
