In the absence of an agreement on fisheries subsidies, the developed countries along with several developing countries have stepped up their efforts to force a General Council (GC) decision on export prohibitions at the World Trade Organization under the apparent pretext of supporting the World Food Programme (WFP) during the COVID-19 pandemic, trade envoys told the SUNS.
