Members of the World Trade Organization are congregating for a General Council (GC) meeting on 6-7 May to discuss the "follow-up" to the failed WTO's 14th ministerial conference (MC14) that concluded in Yaounde, Cameroon, on 30 March.

The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 5 May expressed alarm over the persistent over-representation of Indigenous children in the criminal justice system as a result of systematic and structural racial discrimination against Indigenous communities in Australia.

Afghanistan : Speaking up for girls' education carries heavy risks (PRIV)

Qadoos Khatibi, an Afghan university lecturer, and Fayaz Ghori, a civil society activist, also from Afghanistan, were detained by the Taliban's Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. Their crime? Advocating for girls' right to education.
