UN : Global FDI slips another 3% amid investor uncertainty, says UNCTAD (PRIV)

Following two consecutive years of decline, global foreign direct investment (FDI) decreased by a further 3% in the first half of 2025, as tariff escalation, high interest rates and ongoing geopolitical tensions have heightened investor uncertainty, leading to a widespread wait-and-see attitude across many sectors, according to UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

More details are continuing to emerge about atrocities being committed during and after the fall of El Fasher to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan on 23 October, according to the UN Human Rights Office.
