The European Union on 29 October secured a favourable ruling from a World Trade Organization (WTO) arbitrator, granting it the right to impose countermeasures worth US$13.64 million per annum against the United States.

UN : Commission urges swift action to avert South Sudan's return to war (PRIV)

The UN Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan on 29 October warned that amidst escalating armed conflict and political crisis in South Sudan, decisive and coordinated international action is urgently required to halt mounting human rights violations and to avert a total collapse of the country's political transition.
