Trade : Cameroon pressures South Africa to back IFDA ahead of MC14 (PRIV)

Cameroon is apparently pressuring South Africa to support the incorporation of the controversial Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement (IFDA) into Annex 4 of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement, as the likely deliverables for the WTO's 14th ministerial conference (MC14) are seemingly "evaporating by the day", said people familiar with the development.

Top trade negotiators from China and the United States struck a positive tone on their frayed bilateral trade relations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 26 October, setting the stage for a meeting between their leaders in South Korea later this week.

Sudan : UN calls for immediate cease-fire as El Fasher crisis deepens (PRIV)

The United Nations' top humanitarian official has called for an immediate cease-fire in El Fasher, across Darfur and throughout Sudan.
