Trade : US warns of "decoupling" over China's rare earth export curbs (PRIV)

Senior officials of the Trump administration on 15 October seemingly inveighed against China, framing proposed restrictions on the export of critical minerals as a case of "China versus the world" and threatening that Washington does not want to "decouple" from China but will do so if the situation worsens.

WTO : China initiates trade dispute over India's EV & battery subsidies (PRIV)

China has initiated a trade dispute at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over India's alleged subsidy measures on electric vehicles (EVs) and batteries - a move that some observers described as being the case of the proverbial "pot calling the kettle black," according to people familiar with the development.

UN : 13.7 million at risk as WFP funding dries up (PRIV)

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on 15 October warned that cuts to its food assistance could push 13.7 million current food aid recipients from crisis to emergency levels of hunger - representing a one-third increase.
