World Trade Organization Director-General Ms. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on 30 September welcomed the ratification of the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, or "Fish 1", by 114 members.

Finance : Global FX trading hits $9.6 trillion daily, led by US dollar (PRIV)

Trading in over-the-counter (OTC) foreign exchange (FX) markets reached $9.6 trillion per day in April 2025, up 28% from $7.5 trillion seen three years earlier, with the US dollar continuing to dominate global FX markets, according to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

Sudan : UN calls for end to El Fasher siege amid humanitarian crisis (PRIV)

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Denise Brown, has called for the lifting of the siege of El Fasher - the besieged state capital of North Darfur - as well as an end to indiscriminate attacks.
