Trade : Members remain divided on "WTO reform", no consensus on IFDA (PRIV)

The World Trade Organization's General Council (GC) meeting on 22 July appears to have produced deep divisions on how to reform the organization, with developing countries pushing back against attempts by the European Union and the "Friends of the System" group to bring about changes in the consensus-based decision-making process and the special and differential treatment (S&DT) architecture, said people familiar with the discussions.

South Sudan : Millions face food aid cuts amid funding slowdown (PRIV)

While over two million people in South Sudan have been reached with life- saving assistance so far this year, a severe funding shortfall is threatening ongoing support, placing millions at risk of losing access to humanitarian food assistance, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has warned.

Sudan : UN steps up support for hundreds of thousands displaced in Tawila (PRIV)

The United Nations and its partners have revised and scaled-up plans to respond to the overwhelming needs of more than 380,000 displaced people in the locality of Tawila, in the Sudan's North Darfur State, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported.
