WTO : Draft modalities for MC14 prioritise reforms ahead of mandated issues (PRIV)

The World Trade Organization's Director-General and the chair of the WTO's General Council (GC) on 22 May issued a rather controversial joint report on the "Revised Road to Yaounde MC14", highlighting issues centred on WTO reform, including the negotiating function, that appear to be heavily tilted in favour of the industrialized countries, particularly the United States, while giving a secondary status to the mandated issues, said people familiar with the development.

UN : Concerns mount over new wave of deadly Russian attacks on Ukraine (PRIV)

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has appealed for an end to the daily killings and destruction in Ukraine, following the deadly attacks launched by the Russian armed forces over the weekend that killed or injured dozens of civilians.

UN : Escalating conflict drives food insecurity to crisis levels in DRC (PRIV)

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that the sheer scale of people being displaced from their homes in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) due to escalating conflict, is pushing food insecurity to crisis proportions and deepening an already strained humanitarian response, both internally and across the region.
