Plant Treaty : MLS WG debate on expansion of scope of plants postponed (PRIV)

The 13th Meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group (WG13) to Enhance the Functioning of the Multilateral System of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (Plant Treaty) has postponed talks relating to the Co-chairs' proposal to expand the scope of plants covered by the Treaty.

The humanitarian community in Sudan is facing critical and intensifying operational challenges in North Darfur State, driven by the forced and large-scale displacement of civilians away from established infrastructure and humanitarian services, according to the UN resident coordinator in Sudan.

Myanmar : Thousands still in dire need weeks after deadly earthquakes (PRIV)

Three weeks after catastrophic twin earthquakes hit Myanmar on 28 March, the worst-affected communities are still without safe shelter, clean water and sanitation, stable electricity, healthcare and essential services, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
