Trade : Calls for harmonizing digital trade rules at WTO (PRIV)

Several countries have made suggestions at the World Trade Organization to enhance technical assistance and capacity building for bridging the growing digital divide while enabling technology transfer and digital industrialization, at a time when the future of the WTO appears to remain in uncharted waters due to the all-out assault by the United States on the 166-member trade body in pursuit of its allegedly coercive trade policies, said people familiar with the development.

UN : Call for strong multilateralism at 7th session of UN Environment Assembly (PRIV)

Developing countries, led by the Group of 77 and China, called for a strong commitment to multilateralism at the first intergovernmental consultations on the zero draft of the ministerial declaration of the 7th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) held on 15 April 2025.

Haiti : UN agencies raise alarm over record hunger amid critical funding needs (PRIV)

Despite its expanded emergency response in Haiti, an escalation in violence, displacement, economic turmoil and disruptions to local food production are fueling hunger, leaving millions at risk, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) warned on 17 April.
