WTO : DG deeply concerned with US-China trade war, 0.2% dip in goods (PRIV)

The World Trade Organization on 16 April suggested that the pausing of reciprocal tariffs by the Trump administration would lead to a 0.2% decline in the volume of world merchandise trade in 2025, while its Director-General, Ms Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said that she is "deeply concerned" over the US-China trade war.

The United States on 16 April announced that it will impose a tariff of 245% on Chinese goods entering the American market, a move that suggests that Washington could wage the most coercive tariff and trade war against China and other countries for the first time in the last 100 years, analysts and reports suggested.

UN : Greater global support needed to address urgent crisis in Haiti (PRIV)
