China retaliates with 34% tariff on US goods, initiates WTO dispute (PRIV)

Calling the "reciprocal tariffs" announced by United States President Donald Trump on Chinese goods a grave violation of international trade rules, seriously undermining "China's legitimate and lawful rights and interests", and "is a typical unilateral bullying practice," China has retaliated with a 34% tariff on all American goods, which will come into effect on 10 April.

World food commodity prices remained largely unchanged in March, as the declines in world cereal and sugar prices offset a notable increase in vegetable oil prices, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The forecast for world trade in cereals in 2024/25 has been further reduced by 5.3 million tonnes to 478.9 million tonnes, marking a 6.7 percent decrease from the 2023/24 level and the lowest since 2019/20, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
