Trade : Trump escalates trade war by imposing tariffs on steel & aluminum (PRIV)

United States President Donald Trump on 11 March appears to have escalated his trade war by imposing a 25% tariff on imports of steel and aluminum products from all countries, including Canada, which was initially threatened with a 50% tariff but was later dropped after the Ontario province of Canada agreed to remove a surcharge on the supply of electricity to several US states, according to media reports.

The President-designate of the 30th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP30), Ambassador Andre Correa do Lago, Secretary for Climate, Energy, and Environment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, laid out the vision that would guide the work under the incoming Presidency at COP30 in a letter dated 10 March.

UN : Higher sugar, dairy quotations drive up global food prices in February (PRIV)

World food commodity prices rose in February, mainly driven by higher prices for sugar, dairy products, and vegetable oil, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
