Trade : Trump unleashes global trade war by imposing unilateral tariffs (PRIV)

United States President Donald Trump on 1 February unilaterally imposed a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, and a 10% tariff on goods from China, a move that led to a "tit- for-tat" trade war with its two North American trade partners who decided to retaliate in an even measure, media reports have suggested.

WHO : Rare disease resolution silent on use of TRIPS flexibilities (PRIV)

The proposed World Health Assembly (WHA) resolution on rare diseases maintains its silence on the use of flexibilities in the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement), administered by the World Trade Organization (WTO), and downplays the critical issues of access, availability and affordability of high-cost medicines and treatment for rare diseases.

UN : Myanmar on the brink as conflict fuels hunger, says WFP (PRIV)

Hunger has reached alarming levels in Myanmar, with the situation set to worsen in 2025 as a staggering 15 million people are expected to face hunger, up from 13.3 million last year, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has warned.
