WTO : "Short shrift" given to core issues in reform of dispute settlement sy stem (PRIV)

The "work in progress" report on the ongo ing discussions on dispute settlement reform at the World Trade Organization suggests that several core issues in adjudicating/resolving global trade di sputes, namely, the scope of review, the standard of review, reducing/changing ince ntives to appeal, and clarifying members' expectations of adjudicators, are seemin gly being given a "short shrift", said people familiar with the development.

WHO : Slow progress in talks forces INB to postpone WHA special session (PRIV)

Slow progress at the 12th round of negotiations forced the Intergovernmental Negotiating Bod y (INB) on the Pandemic Agreement to postpone its earlier plan to hold the Sp ecial Session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) in December 2024 to adopt the new instrument.
