China on 4 November initiated dispute settlement proceedings against the European Union at the World Trade Organization over the imposition by Brussels of "definitive countervailing duty measures on new battery electric vehicles originating from China".

UN : UNCTAD seeks to advance carbon markets for development in LDCs (PRIV)

UN Trade and Development (previously known as UNCTAD) on 4 November touted the benefits of developing carbon markets i n the least-developed countries (LDCs) to avail of the benefits of carbon cre dits, even though "carbon markets are risky business for LDCs", said people famil iar with the development.

UN : Cholera & dengue fever outbreaks hit famine-stricken Sudan (PRIV)

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has now reported a surge in cholera and dengue fever outbreaks amid a deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
