WTO : Confidential draft on dispute settlement reform "full of potholes" (PRIV)

The facilitator overseeing the discussion s on the reform of the World Trade Organization's dispute settlement system on 1 1 October called for more intensified discussions on several issues concernin g the "appeal/review" mechanism in order to reach a "final solution", said people familiar with the development.

UN : UNHCR chief urges joint action to address plight of 123 million displac ed (PRIV)

Highlighting that "cynicism and isolation a re not luxuries that refugees can afford", the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, called on governments to work together to find solutions fo r the 123 million refugees and displaced people worldwide.

UN : Number of people in crisis levels of hunger nearly triples in Zambia (PRIV)

An estimated 5.8 million people, or 33 perc ent of the analysed population, in Zambia will likely experience heightened hun ger between October 2024 and March 2025, according to the latest analysis by th e Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).
