The co-convenors overseeing the discussion s on the appeal/review mechanism under the ambit of the reform of the World Trad e Organization's dispute settlement system seem to be confounding the issues in an apparent attempt to severely weaken the existing "standing body", as expert s congregate in Geneva for a technical meeting on 8 October, said people fami liar with the development.

UN : Global food prices see fastest rise in 18 months, says FAO (PRIV)

A basket of key food commodities saw the fas test increase in prices in 18 months in September, with international quotations for sugar leading an across-the-board rise in the prices of all covered food co mmodity groups, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

UN : Cereal output to remain low despite improved rice & wheat prospects (PRIV)

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has raised marginally its latest forecast for global cereal productio n in 2024 to 2,853 million tonnes, reflecting upward revisions to rice and wheat outputs that outweighed a minor reduction in global coarse grains productio n.
