WTO : Global small-scale fishers criticize proposed Fish-2 agreement (PRIV)

Global small-scale fishers have inveighed against the draft text issued by the chair of the Doha fisheries subsidies negotiations on 12 July addressing subsidies contributing to overcapacity a nd overfishing (OCOF) on grounds that it does not provide "effective disciplin es on those responsible for the state of the oceans today."

Sudan : UN expert sounds the alarm over dire human rights situation (PRIV)

The Designated Expert on human rights in Su dan of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Radhouane Nouicer, raised the alarm over the dire human rights situation in the count ry following a five-day visit to Port Sudan.
