WTO : AG calls for confidence-building measures on PSH, SSM, cotton (PRIV)

The African Group (AG) on 1 July submitted a "draft text on agriculture" to the World Trade Organization's Doha agricult ure negotiating body while disassociating from the parallel informal process be ing conducted by Brazil, seeking "substantial outcomes", including "policy spac e" and a permanent solution for public stockholding (PSH) programs for food securi ty purposes for all developing countries, said people familiar with the develo pment.

UN : Global trade resumes growth in 2024, but recovery uneven (PRIV)

Global trade trends turned positive in the f irst quarter of 2024, with goods trade increasing by around 1 per cent quarter-over-quarter, and services trade growing at approximately 1.5 per c ent, according to UN Trade and Development (formerly known as UNCTAD).

The volume of world merchandise trade saw an upturn in the first quarter of 2024 after remaining flat throughout 2023, a ccording to the World Trade Organization.
