WTO : GC chair's retreat on decision-making defers development to October (PRIV)

The chair of the World Trade Organization 's General Council (GC) has informed members that the much-targeted "retreat" is being reduced to a one-day event to focus on "WTO/ Geneva decision-making processes" while deferring the discussion on "development" issues raised by the developing countries to October this year, said people familiar with the development.

The recently concluded climate talks under the UNFCCC's 60th sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB60) held in Bo nn, Germany, agreed on the conclusions on carrying the work forward on the "response measures" agenda (which refers to the impacts of the implementati on of mitigation measures in jurisdiction and out-of-jurisdiction or cross-border impacts taken by Parties to the UNFCCC, the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement. )

Sudan : The use of starvation as a weapon of war must stop, say UN experts (PRIV)

Over 25 million civilians in Sudan and thos e fleeing Sudan are being starved and require urgent humanitarian assistance due to the war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to a group of United Nations human rights experts.
