UN : Slight drop in global unemployment amid persisting inequalities (PRIV)

The global unemployment rate is projected t o hit 4.9 per cent in 2024, slightly lower than the 5.0 per cent recorded in 2023, and a downward revision from a previous projection of 5.2 per cent for this yea r, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Sudan : More than 7 million internally displaced since April last year - IOM (PRIV)

An estimated 7,111,788 individuals have bee n displaced inside Sudan since the outbreak of the conflict in the country on 15 April 2023, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reported .
