Trade : "Responsible consensus" proposal rejected at WTO (PRIV)

Many developing countries, including the African Group and the ACP (African, Caribbean, and Pacific) Group on 23 May rejected the proposal on "responsible consensus" floated by Singapore along with several other countries at the World Trade Organization, said people famili ar with the development.

The European Union's (EU) stance in discussions for a Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing (PABS) System in the context of the WHO Pandemic Agreement negotiations is fraught with hypocrisy and double standa rds, needlessly complicating the PABS negotiations.

UN : Humanitarian official "deeply disturbed" at attacks on civilians in Kha rkiv (PRIV)

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine, Denise Brown, on 23 May said that she is "deeply disturbed" by the news from Kharkiv City and Kharkiv Region, where attacks by the Russian Armed Forces killed civilians, caused injuries, and destroyed homes, busine sses, transport and other civilian infrastructure.
