Finance : OTC derivatives continue their upward trajectory in 2023 - BIS (PRIV)

The notional value of outstanding over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives grew by 8% overall in 2023, according to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

UN : Rights chief renews call for an end to hostilities in Sudan conflict (PRIV)

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr Volker Turk, is horrified by the escalating violence in El-Fasher, Darfur, where hostilities between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces - backed by their respective allied armed groups - are having a deeply devastating toll on civilians, the High Commissioner's spokesperson said on 17 May.

UN : Accountability needed for enforced disappearances in Sri Lanka (PRIV)

The UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) has said the large number of enforced disappearances that have occurred in Sri Lanka continue to haunt and to wound both individuals and society as a whole and demand full accountability in accordance with international standards.
