Trade : Upcoming meeting on WTO reforms may not address real problems (PRIV)

The chair of the World Trade Organization's General Council, Ambassador Didier Chambovey of Switzerland, has scheduled an informal meeting on "WTO reforms" on 10 November, in what appears to be "Davos-type" anomalous discussions that could further confound the issues to be addressed, said people familiar with the development.

COP 27 : A climate summit following empty promises & funding failures (PRIV)

The COP 27 climate summit is taking place amid a rash of political, economic and environmental upheavals, including missed funding and emission targets, increased pollution and climate devastation, rising global inflation, cuts in Western development assistance and the negative after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Energy : Oil exporters make markets, not war (PRIV)

The decision to cut oil production by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies as of Nov. 1 comes in response to the need to face a shrinking market, although it also forms part of the current clash between Russia and the West.
