WTO : UK & Swiss positions likely to stymie WTO negotiations (PRIV)

With the apparent exclusion of India from the "green room" meeting on fisheries subsidies on 13 June, it appears that the proverbial policy of "divide-and-rule" is becoming the norm at the WTO's 12th ministerial conference (MC12), said people familiar with the development.

Developing countries at the Glasgow Dialogue (GD) on loss and damage stressed that funding to address loss and damage is inadequate; this required new funding arrangements.

Sydney/Kuala Lumpur, 14 Jun (IPS/Anis Chowdhury and Jomo Kwame Sundaram*) -- US-led sanctions are inadvertently undermining the dollar's post-Second World War dominance. The growing number of countries threatened by US and allied actions is forcing victims and potential targets to respond pro-actively.
