Trade : South countries criticize draft agri-text for creating unlevel playing field (PRIV)

Many developing countries on 7 September inveighed against the draft agriculture text issued by the chair of the Doha agriculture negotiating body, Ambassador Gloria Abraham Peralta from Costa Rica, suggesting that it appears to have created an asymmetrical, unlevel-playing field that undermines the developmental priorities of the developing countries.

United Nations : Global food prices rebound in August, says FAO (PRIV)

The international prices of a basket of key agricultural food commodities rose rapidly in August, led by strong gains in the prices for sugar, vegetable oils, and wheat, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has said.
