Trade : US blocks compliance panel over Chinese TRQs on agri-products (PRIV)

A request for the establishment of a panel by China to determine whether China has complied with an earlier WTO ruling in a dispute over China's administration of tariff rate quotas (TRQs) on certain agricultural products was blocked by the United States at a meeting of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) on 26 July.

Trade : EU initiates dispute over Russia's import substitution programme (PRIV)

The European Union has initiated a dispute at the World Trade Organization over certain measures imposed by the Russian Federation allegedly favouring domestic products and services provided by domestic entities over foreign products and services provided by foreign entities.

Latin America : Sets an example in welcoming displaced Venezuelans (PRIV)

The exodus of more than five million Venezuelans in the last six years has led countries in the developing South, Venezuela's neighbours, to set an example with respect to welcoming and integrating displaced populations, with shared benefits for the new arrivals and the nations that receive them.
