Trade : Proponents of TRIPS waiver call for text-based negotiations (PRIV)

As the deaths worldwide from COVID-19 passed the 2 million mark due to enveloping shortages of vaccines, the proponents of a TRIPS waiver for temporarily suspending key provisions in the WTO's TRIPS Agreement in combating the worsening pandemic have called for text-based negotiations at the WTO so as to ensure an early agreement on the waiver, negotiators told the SUNS.
