Despite lingering risks, investor optimism about the near-term outlook set the tone for financial markets during the period from 7 September to 2 December 2024, according to the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

The humanitarian community has launched the 2025 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) for South Sudan, appealing for US$1.7 billion to provide essential lifesaving assistance to 5.4 million people experiencing the most acute needs across the country.
